Sambar Cheera is also known as Waterleaf Plants. Sambar Cheera is a popular backyard spinach of Kerala and rich in Vitamin A and C, calcium, iron, and dietary fiber.

It is widely grown in tropical regions as a leaf vegetable. It is easy to propagate and very economical since we can plant it almost in any soil.  This Sambar Cheera can be very easily grown anywhere in kerala. But even now 90% keralalites do not recognise or use this cheera which is rich of vitamins and minerals. It is the only leaf vegetable that can be used in sabar. Moreover it does not need any pesticides or any manure..  sambar cheera is very useful for acidity, it cools our stomach and also useful for diabatic patients.
